Friends of Brewster Library
I met Carol at the Brewster Library where she was a volunteer restocking returned materials & pulling items to fulfill requests.
Thru Maria Steinberg - library director, Carol & I pursued getting a 501C3. We finally succeeded after having to go thru several lawyers and 12 months later. We started "The Friends of The Brewster Library" (Non-Profit). Carol was the teasurer and handled our books depositing money we raised and writing checks to cover purchases for the library. We were quite proud of the people who joined the " Friends" and helped raise funds, used book sales and pass proposals all in the interest of the library. Our proudest moment was when we had an actual bookstore open on weekends and ran by our volunteers. We raised thousands & thousands of dollars for the Library. We paid for programs,museum passes,furniture,library materials,etc. Carol was the most kind,giving,wonderful, person who I was lucky enough to know. She was truly a wonderful person to work with.
