It was our great pleasure to know Peter Valeri during his many years as Manager of the Larchmont Shore Club.  He was a wonderful person, and we thought the world of him.  Our daughter will never forget how kindly and capably he enhanced her wedding reception.  Like everything Peter did, it was perfection.

     Knowing all Peter had lived through at the club, my husband and I used to tell him he should write a book, which he never did.  But eventually, Ed and I wrote that book, and Peter gave us all kinds of sparkling input.   (Of course, he never mentioned any names -- guilty, innocent or otherwise!)  We called this book "Last Summer at the Club," and we sent Peter one of the first copies published.  Why not?  He was a a most valued major contributor.

      I wish it were possible for me to attend Peter's wake and funeral.  Since I cannot, I offer his family the deep sympathy of our family.  We will pray for you -- and of course, for our longtime friend Peter.
