Dorothy Brandi

Mrs. Dorothy Brandi entered eternal rest on Friday February 27, 2015. She was 95 years old. Dorothy was born to Victor and Teresa Malozzi in the Bronx, N.Y. She married Anthony (Tony) in 1943. He preceded her in death in 2000.

Dorothy earned her teaching degree at Hunter College and retired from P.S. 112 in Bronxwood after 30 consecutive years of service. The latter 15 spent as Assistant Principle.

Dorothy loved people, nature, sewing, and sowing. She was an avid traveler who visited Europe, Greece, Puerto Rico, China, and Russia. She felt especially blessed to have seen both Pope John XXIII as well as Padre Pio. Dorothy was a parishioner of St. Gregory the Great Church, the first chairperson of the Harrison Environmental Committee, member of the Charles Dawson History Center, Garden Club, and Quilting Club.

Dorothy was the devoted mother to Frank (Lonnie) and the late Louise Young (Tom). She also leaves behind 5 loving grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and sister Veronica Mastrangelo. Three sisters and 1 brother had also predeceased.

The Brandi Family will be receiving friends on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Harrison Funeral Home. The funeral will be held on Wednesday. Mass of the Christian Burial 10 a.m. at St. Gregory the Great Church.
