Ofelia Cristina Rosales, age 76 passed away on Monday, April 10, 2023. She was born on May 7, 1946, in Mendoza, Argentina to Elentina Pelayes and Guillermo Cano. She is survived by her son Ricardo Gabriel Rosales, her daughter Claudia Cristina DiLeonardo (Joseph) and her pride and treasure, her granddaughter, Alexa Christine DiLeonardo.
Ofelia grew up in Mendoza, Argentina where she met her husband Ricardo Enrique Rosales. In their early twenties, they left Mendoza for New York where they built a life for themselves and their two children. Ricardo and Ofelia loved to dance and listen to music and travel to Mendoza every year to see their family and friends. They were married for forty years until Ricardo’s passing in July of 2010.
Ofelia was full of life. She loved spending time with her granddaughter and seeing her grow. She enjoyed keeping active by attending yoga and exercise classes regularly, she loved to travel, read and have dinner with family and friends.
Ofelia passed away unexpectedly on April 10, 2023 doing what she loved most, vacationing with her family. Up until her last breath she was making plans for when she returned back home to New York. Her memory will always be in our hearts. We will miss her and love her always.
