Obituary for James M. Degnan

James Michael Degnan of Hunters Glenn, Carmel, NY, died peacefully on January 3, 2020 in Carmel, NY at the age of 89.
James is survived by his wife, Helen Degnan of 61 years; children, Helen Crossen of New Milford CT, James Degnan of Somers, NY and William Degnan of Pearl River, NY; grandchildren, Scott, Thomas, James, John, Katherine, Maureen, Kevin, Ryan and 9 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mark and Anna Degnan, his sisters Evelyn, Madeline, Margaret and brothers Robert and Mark.
James was born on October, 26, 1930 in Bronx, New York. He served in the United States Army, during the Korean War, from 1951 to 1953.
While raising his family in Carmel, NY, James prided himself as a Forman of the Laborers Steel Union Local 18A. He continued working at the Carmel Central School District until his retirement in 1992.
He was an active and dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus since 1983 and served on their corporate board.
