Det. Sgt.Liam G Ahern
Liam Gerard Ahern was born to Jack and Marge Ahern in Brooklyn NY on December 18th, 1957. Liam was younger brother to Jack and older brother to Brian, Christine (Rizzo) and Karen (Turton). Liam was a proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 30, serving as a Shop Steward and on the Executive Board for many years. Liam was also proud to serve the City of New York as a police officer, rising through the ranks and retiring in 2001 as a Detective Sergeant within the Crime Scene Unit.

Without a doubt, the highlight of Liam’s life was his family. Liam loved without limits and enjoyed lively family gatherings full of Irish music and old stories. He cherished his roles of son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, cousin and friend. Liam was predeceased by his father Jack, his brother Brian, his brother Jack and his mother Margaret. He leaves behind his wife of 37 years, Nuala (neé Lynn), his sisters Christine (Frank), Karen (Darren), four children Brigid, Kaitlin (Dan), Liam (Noreen) and Brian. Liam was a grandfather to eight: Jack, Bailey, Katrina, Jameson, Colin, Seamus, Liam and Brendan; and uncle to 30 nieces and nephews. He will be missed. His life will be celebrated by many extended family and friends.
