Obituary for Sarah H. "Sally" Anderson

Sarah H. "Sally" Anderson
Sarah (Sally) Hogg Anderson, a long-time resident of Carmel, NY, died peacefully on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Putnam Ridge Nursing Home in Brewster, NY. She was 86 years old.
Sally¬¬¬ was born on November 29, 1929 in Brooklyn, NY to Scottish immigrants John and Sarah (Daisy) Hogg. She was an active member of Fort Hamilton Presbyterian Church in Brooklyn and Gilead Presbyterian Church in Carmel, her beautiful soprano voice gracing both Choirs. Sally spent much of her working life as a Homemaker and then as a Teaching Assistant in the Carmel School District. Upon retiring from Carmel High School in 1993, Sally spent her days volunteering with Literacy Volunteers, caring for her granddaughters, and making lots of cookies and “Mama Sauce”! Sally moved with her husband, Ray, to The Fountains at Millbrook in 2004 where they made their home together until 2015.
Sally was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Raymond, as well as by her brother, John, who died in infancy. Sally is survived by her loving daughter, Darlene, and son-in-law, Dean Alexander of New Fairfield, CT. Sally – “Mama” - will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Madison, Jordan, and Bryce. Sally was blessed to have nieces – Linda Triozzi, Arlene Ferretti, and Lorraine Anderson – and nephews – Larry Ferretti and Richard Anderson – who were always a source of love and support for her, Ray, and Darlene.
