I recently retired from the MTA (at age 62) and only learned of this when a friend forwarded the notice. I was very sad to hear of George's passing. George was one of the first people I worked for at MTA when I was right out of college in the late 1970's. He was one of the hardest working people I ever met and always wanted to do the right thing for the company and his coworkers. He was a friend and mentor when I was a young man and I will remember him fondly. The only thing more important to George than the MTA were his children, who he cared deeply about. A good man who will be missed by many.
