Obituary for Louis Bonet

It is with great sadness that the family of Louis Bonet, age 63, announces that on April 23, 2018 he passed away peacefully at his home in Carmel, New York from complications related to his long and brave battle with diabetes. Lou is survived by his wife of 33 years, Kathleen, of Carmel, New York, his son Christopher of Carmel, New York and his daughter Jessica and her fiancé, Rob Leshin, of Brooklyn, New York.
Lou also leaves behind his sister-in-law, Elizabeth Grunblatt and her husband Steve Grunblatt and their children Sara and Eric of Mahwah, New Jersey; his brother-in-law Michael Gefers and his wife Pamela Goldstein and their son Noah of Somerville, Massachusetts; his brother-in-law Bill Gefers of East Islip, New York and his brother-in-law Tom Gefers of Bridport, Vermont.
Lou is also survived by his cousins Marcie Torres of Lake Havasu, Arizona and Susan Cruz of Bronx, New York.
Lou is predeceased in death by his mother, Camila, his father Luis, his brother Robert, his sister Camille, his mother-in law, Eileen Gefers, his father-in law William Gefers and his brother-in-law Fred Gefers.

Lou was born on February 3, 1955 in Bronx, New York. Lou graduated from Curtis High School in Staten Island and NY Technical College. Lou was retired from his job as an electronic specialist at Metro North Railroad where he worked for over twenty years. Lou was a devoted family man and was proud of his children and their many accomplishments. He was a multi-sport athlete in his youth and a devoted sports fan throughout the years. Above all other teams, he was a dedicated Yankees fan and rarely missed watching a game. Lou will be greatly missed for his sense of humor, vibrant energy, and his superior backgammon skills.
