Obituary for John Edward Francis Grozinger

John Grozinger was born in the Throggs neck area of the Bronx, growing up on the waterfront of the White Cross Fishing Club. John loved to be near the water and wrote about his childhood there.
He had many passions, and was devoted to whatever he did. He was a natural when it came to children and worked at the Hallen School, The Harrison Children's Center, the Harrison Central School District, and the Recreation Center. He found a need in the teenagers and started Words Theater Co. where they could express themselves in a safe, nurturing environment, performing Shakespeare in the park, original pieces and works from many other artists. A teacher, a coach, a guide, he watched so many children grow into adulthood.
Many knew him as Doc, Coach, and because of his fondness for them, Papa Crow.
After retiring, he renewed his passion for art and exhibited in the area until we opened a gallery of our own, Room to Create, in downtown Harrison. He loved greeting people, socializing, and was always a warm welcoming face.
John loved life. He loved people. He was generous with his kindness, his time, his laughter, his love.
He will be missed by many, but of course, not nearly as much as me. I am truly blessed to have this man love me as he did.
Mr. John, I will miss hearing those words, "I adore you"...I will love you forever.
