Rev. Ariel E. Verdesi, 86
The Reverend Ariel E. Verdesi, 86, of Sleepy Hollow, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Kendall on the Hudson, NY, where he had resided since 2005.
In 1955, Ariel was ordained and installed as a Presbyterian minister and was currently a minister at the Congers Presbyterian Church in Congers, NY. He also worked as the Protestant chaplain at Rockland Psychiatric Center for over 35 years.
Ariel is survived by his sister Claire, his son Paul Verdesi, his daughter Lora Mattiaccio, and his six grandchildren, Dwight, Calvin, Celeste, Antonia, Jacob, and Benjamin.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 16 at 1:30 at the Congers First Presbyterian Church located at 17 Highway Avenue, Congers, NY, 10920. 845-268-4015.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Presbyterian Church of Congers or Holmes Presbyterian Camp.
